South Hurricane Township is one of twenty townships in Fayette County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 335[1]. This township, along with North Hurricane Township, was formed when Hurricane Township split sometime after 1921.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, South Hurricane Township covers an area of 27.12 square miles (70.2 km2). The township contains the southwest edge of Ramsey Lake State Recreation Area.
